The mission of The Friends of Barren River Lake & Park (FOBRLP) is “Conservation, Communication, Education.” First chartered in 1987 as the Barren River Regional Water Safety Council, these non-profit organization partners with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Kentucky State Parks, Kentucky Fish & Wildlife, local governments, and other non-profit organizations to provide a platform for all interested individuals surrounding Barren River Lake. The FOBRLP works to promote water safety through public education campaigns, support environmental education and programs through its partner agencies, and provide annual events for the recreating public.

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED FOR LAKESHORE CLEANUP
- Groups, especially those with children, must pre-register by scanning QR code or calling Holly at 270-646-2055.
- Please print, fill out, and bring your forms with you when you check in on the morning of the event.
- Each child under 18 will need a separate, fully completed “under 18 registration form” with a parent or legal guardian’s signature.
- Group leaders and adult individuals should fill out the “adult registration form.” Group leaders use their personal information and group name.
- Any adult members of a group can just fill out one row of the “adult group registration form,” and attach it to the group form filled out by their group leader.

You’ll also contribute your voice in communicating public issues and community needs around the Barren River Lake public land.

Barren River Lake is a beautiful spot in Kentucky that’s perfect for fishing, swimming, and boating. Every year, thousands of people enjoy its waters. But it’s not just the visitors who love the lake – the Friends of Barren River Lake work hard to protect and preserve it.
